106th Radio Show (OA February 23rd 2009)
Yamada Ryosuke x Chinen Yuri
HEY!SAY!LETTER

HS7 UltraPower

Yamada: Good evening, this is HS7’s Yamada Ryosuke

Chinen: Good evening, this is Chinen Yuri. Continuing from last week, we’d like to host again. Now, I’d like to introduce a short letter.

Yamada: Okay

Chinen: This is from Chiba-ken Maru san “Does HS7 has something they can’t live without?”

Yamada: Hm?

Chinen: “By the way, I can’t live without lip cream” is what she said

Yamada: Something you can’t live without?

Chinen: Well

Yamada: That can mean something you always carry, right?

Chinen: Clothes

Yamada: Are you stupid?

Chinen: Something big will happen if we didn’t have those

Yamada: Yeah. I wonder…

Chinen: I have to have my cell phone and my wallet with me

Yamada: Or you won’t feel calm, right?

Chinen: If something happened, I’ll be in trouble

Yamada: Yeah. You’re such 21th century kid

Chinen: 21st century kid? Everyone has cell phones now a day

Yamada: Wallets aren’t just for 21st century though

Chinen: No, we all need wallets if we have to go out

Yamada: Yeah. Something I need to feel relieved. I don’t know my bag? I need a bag with me at all times, even if there’s nothing in it

Chinen: Oh I know!  You feel worried when you go out without carrying anything

Yamada: It feels

Chinen: I know

Yamada: Even on trains, I don’t feel calm when I don’t have a bag on my lap

Chinen: I know

Yamada: You do?

Chinen: I know

Yamada: Some weights have to be on there

Chinen: You feel “eh? Am I okay with just this?” kind of feeling

Yamada: You feel like you forgot something and I would forget to bring the bag itself

Chinen: Yeah

Yamada: So, I want to carry a bag with me at all times

Chinen: I guess bags and such for us

Yamada: Yeah

Chinen: Let’s start now

Yamada: Yup

HS7 UltraPower

Yamada: Mondays are that corner, which we get to answer to your questions

Chinen: What kind of stories will we hear? Please enjoy until the end

HEY!SAY!LETTER

Chinen: This is a corner where we receive topics such as funny incidents, a simple question, special trivia, and etc.

Yamada: Let’s start introducing the letters. This is from Kagoshima-ken penname Mirai san

Chinen: Ooh! Mirai san

Yamada: Umm “I enjoy listening to your radio every time. When I was talking to my friend in Tokyo about games you played in primary school. She said she played ‘doro-kei’”

Chinen: Doro-kei?!

Yamada: “In Kagoshima, where I live, we say ‘kei-doro’”

Chinen: Of course!

Yamada: “Which one does HS7 use? Doro-kei or kei-doro? Also, please tell me a game you used to play in primary school”
[Doro-kei/Kei-doro, the game cops and robbers. Kei/Keisatsu/Cops. Doro/Dorobou/Robbers]

Chinen: Okay! Which one are you?

Yamada: I say kei-doro

Chinen: Kei-doro for me too!

Yamada: Was I from Kagoshima-ken?

Chinen: Was I from Kagoshima-ken as well?

Yamada: People are split in middle for this.

Chinen: I know! When I came here, they all said doro-kei, doro-kei, doro-kei

Yamada: Doro-kei, doro-kei

Chinen: And I was like “in Shizuoka, we say kei-doro”

Yamada: Exactly

Chinen: If you were to choose, it’ll be kei-doro for sure. Why would the robber come first? Normally, the cops go first, then the robbers!

Yamada: YEAH! Tell ‘em!

Chinen: Why would you say the bad guys first?

Yamada: Cops are higher than them

Chinen: Yeah, higher

Yamada: They’re on higher rank

Chinen: So, it is kei-doro for sure

Yamada: Yeah!

Chinen: Next, a popular game you played in primary school

Yamada: A game? You climb to the very top of a jungle gym and

Chinen: Then what? Hold a little kid up and pretend you were reenacting lion king? Like “wooah!”

Yamada: Are you stupid? No, but you know how jungle gym has squares?

Chinen: Yeah

Yamada: When I was little, I could fit into that

Chinen: Ehh!

Yamada: I can fall down easily

Chinen: Ehh, that’s too dangerous! That’s too dangerous! That’s scary!! But, really?

Yamada: Of course not

Chinen: You didn’t?

Yamada: Are you stupid? I was just kidding. I used to play a game where you climb up the jungle gym, trying not to get caught

Chinen: I see

Yamada: Yup

Chinen: If someone falls and gets hurt, that school won’t be able to use the jungle gym anymore so it’d be nice if those people stopped.

Yamada: Yes, it’s pretty dangerous

Chinen: When I was in primary school, dodge ball and kei-doro was popular

Yamada: Hmm

Chinen: During recess, we had a time when we could go play with the whole class

Yamada: Ahh

Chinen: And dodge ball would come up but I was always on kei-doro side

Yamada: What was that? “on kei-doro side” (mocking Chinen)

Chinen: “on kei-doro side”

Yamada: “kei-doro”

Chinen: I liked running away so I was always the robber

Yamada: Ahh

Chinen: I guess this is doro-kei after all!

Yamada: It is doro-kei

Chinen: It’s doro-kei after all!

Yamada: Fool! I’m on kei-doro side

Chinen: I liked kei-doro the most

Yamada: If you were to ask me what was popular in primary school, it’d be soccer

Chinen: Soccer?

Yamada: Soccer was popular

Chinen: Soccer, that was mentioned before was popular for you

Yamada: yes

Chinen: I’d like to read the second letter

Yamada: Go ahead

Chinen: From penname Yuna san

Yamada: Yuna san

Chinen: “HS7, konwai-p (konbanwa/good evening?)”

Yamada: Konwai-p, is that Korean?

Chinen: I don’t know but “The other day, around five of my friends told be if you put natto in yogurt, it’d taste good”

Yamada: *making noises*

Chinen: “But do you think they’ll taste good? I don’t like natto, so I won’t eat it but please try it” eh?

Yamada: Wait a minute!

Chinen: We’re the guinea pigs!?

Yamada: Eh? I don’t get it

Chinen: So, you just put natto in the yogurt

Yamada: Excuse me but why don’t you try them yourself instead of asking us?

Chinen: But she hates natto that means I’d have to eat them

Yamada: Wait, I hate natto too! No way!

Chinen: That means, I’d have to do it but ahh, too bad there’s no natto or yogurt here

Yamada: Nope, there isn’t but I’m really interested, in seeing Chinen’s face when he eats it

Chinen: Eh?

Yamada: Your face when you eat it

Chinen: You’re saying you’re interested in my face

Yamada: Yes. You mix natto and yogurt together, right?

Chinen: Yeah

Yamada: Then, you’d eat it

Chinen: Yeah

Yamada: You’d right? I’m interested in seeing Chinen’s reaction on that

Chinen: Ah, I see

Yamada: I’m really looking forward to it

Chinen: You’re awful

Yamada: Call me over when you eat them so I can watch

Chinen: But if this does taste good, that means we were the ones to make it popular

Yamada: Then, Chinen san please try it out

Chinen: Natto yogurt! It’ll be a big event for just me and Yama chan

Yamada: Yup

Chinen: Call me when you’re

Yamada: Okay. Call you?

Chinen: Wait, I’m the one who calls

Yamada: Please call me

Chinen: Okay. I will!

Yamada: Okay

Chinen: That’s about it! Please keep sending us interesting happenings, questions to us, and etc. This was Hey!Say!Letter’s corner

Yamada: Please listen to a song for now. It’s HSJ’s

Yama-Chii: Chance to Change

CtC♪

Chinen: It’s already time for us to go

Yamada: Yes it is

Chinen: What was it? Curry yogurt had the most impact for us. Ah not curry yogurt!

Yamada: Not curry yogurt! You add natto, Natto, NATTO in yogurt

Chinen: I wonder who made this up. I think this is something no one should ever make up

Yamada: Yeah but those of you who doesn’t like the stickiness, you should cook them

Chinen: Is that true?

Yamada: Nah, sorry for saying that

Chinen: Natto

Yamada: But if you cook it! I’m not sure even though I cook but if you cook them until it’s brown

Chinen: The stickiness will be gone?

Yamada: Like an osenbei

Chinen: They’ll be able to it

Yamada: I think you’ll be able to overcome it

Chinen: Ooh!

Yamada: Please try it

Chinen: But the thing I wanted to say the most is… it’s KEI-DORO after all

Yamada: Yeah

Chinen: Robbers should not come before! This is a generation which the cops come first, so robbers should go somewhere else. Yup yup yup!

Yamada: What kind of wrap was that? Oh well, we are waiting for your mails

Chinen: The address is…

Yamada: Please don’t forget to write the title and your radio name. Your host, HS7’s Yamada Ryosuke and

Chinen: Chinen Yuri

Yamada: See you tomorrow

From smalltownsburns
Personally, it was doro-kei for me. Why? Because robbers are being chased after the cops and that means it’s doro-kei since robbers usually don’t go where cops are. X3
