HEY!SAY!LETTER

HS7 UltraPower

Chinen: Good evening, this is HS7’s Chinen Yuri

Okamoto: Good evening, this is Okamoto Keito

Chinen: We’d like to host again with these two this week

Okamoto: Yup. Umm, what’s Chinen into lately?

Chinen: What am I into lately?

Okamoto: What is it?

Chinen: Into lately?

Okamoto: Hm

Chinen: You want to know?

Okamoto: I want to know!

Chinen: You want to know?

Okamoto: I want to know!

Chinen: You want to know?

Okamoto: I want to know!

Chinen: None, nothing!

Okamoto: I want to know!

Chinen: None. I don’t have anything lately. I have been doing acrobats because I enjoyed it but I thought I won’t get taller so…

Okamoto: Hmm

Chinen: I have been sealing it this whole time.

Okamoto: Anyways, what is Chinen into lately?

Chinen: Like I said, I don’t have anything

Okamoto: What about food?

Chinen: What is it always about Chinen?

Okamoto: No wait, wait. We want something though.

Chinen: Want something?

Okamoto: As a listener too like “oh Chinen kun is really into that”

Chinen: Oh! Looking for funny things is what I’m into lately

Okamoto: Really? Then…

Chinen: Like looking for a hobby

Okamoto: So you’re saying, you’re into finding stuff you’re into

Chinen: Not what I’m into but

Okamoto: Forget it, I’m lost

Chinen: It’s to find hobbies. Get it? To find hobbies.

Okamoto: Ooh and what have you found lately?

Chinen: What did I find? I took a lot of naps

Okamoto: Hmm

Chinen: Taking a nap for a day was enough. I didn’t get into it that much

Okamoto: What? What are you saying all the sudden?

Chinen: Eh? I wondered how naps felt like so I slept for a whole day but I wasn’t into it that much

Okamoto: Ahh, you were trying to make taking naps a hobby

Chinen: I wanted to make naps my hobby?

Okamoto: Hm hm

Chinen: Anyways, I thought I would just sleep a lot during the day

Okamoto: Hm hm, let’s start

Chinen: Yes

Oka-Chii: HS7 UltraPower

Chinen: Mondays are that corner which we reply to your letters

Okamoto: Yup, please enjoy until the end

HEY!SAY!LETTER

Okamoto: Yup. It’s a corner where we have you send us interesting incidents, a simple question, trivia, and others.

Chinen: Let’s start introducing the letters. Well, this is from penname Purin san from Saitama-ken. Umm “Good evening everyone. I have pretty strong grip strength and I can go pass 30 kg but I’m not good at arm wrestling. Is it true that you can’t win at arm wrestling even if you have strong grip?”

Okamoto: I don’t know

Chinen: But Keito, you’re have strong grip and you’re good at arm wrestling.

Okamoto: Am I strong at arm wrestling?

Chinen: Yeah but I don’t need “let’s do it” crap because no one will understand it through here

Okamoto: What should we do? What is this about anyway? Which muscles do you use in arm wrestling?

Chinen: Grip strength? Are they same as arm strength?

Okamoto: I don’t know, I really wonder what that is

Chinen: yeah

Okamoto: What is arm wrestling?

Chinen: It’s your arm strength, I think

Okamoto: Ooh

Chinen: And I guess techniques too like the way you put in strength

Okamoto: Ahh, your grip strength

Chinen: Also, your eye power

Okamoto: ooh

Chinen: And force of your voice. Lastly…

Okamoto: Wait, wait a minute. How does force comes out of one’s voice?

Chinen: Like if someone said “HA!” all the sudden, you’d be surprised and they can beat you in the moment

Okamoto: Ahh. I have this strategy I use to win. When you grip at someone during arm wrestling, I pull on the opposite site a bit. You know? You usually try to push but I pull to make the other person think it’s a where you go the opposite direction.

Chinen: No one thinks that way. Are you okay? Well, this topic is over. Next is Keito’s topic.

Okamoto: This letter is from penname Emipon san

Chinen: Oh, Emipon

Okamoto: “Good evening HS7”

Chinen: Oh

Okamoto: “Do you know what ‘机をつる’ means?”

Chinen: Tsukue wo tsuru?

Okamoto: “I live in Aichi-ken and when you lift up a desk, you say ‘tsukue wo tsuru’. I recently found out that it’s only in Aichi-ken and with a doubt in my mind, I decided to send a mail. Please tell me”

Chinen: I don’t know that. My mom is from Aichi-ken but

Okamoto: No no no

Chinen: What do you mean “no no no”? She’s from Aichi-ken

Okamoto: No, just wait.

Chinen: Why?

Okamoto: You don’t say ‘tsukue wo tsuru’ here?

Chinen: No, we don’t

Okamoto: Not at all, we sure do ‘tsuru’ our desks here

Chinen: No

Okamoto: No, we do ‘tsuru’ [desks] I guess you don’t know

Chinen: ‘Tsukue wo tsuru’ as in “ouch!” kind?
攣る/tsuru/ cramps

Okamoto: We do say desks too. Everyone does that ‘tsuru’ meaning

Chinen: I hear you get cramps easily when you’re nervous

Okamoto: So desks get’s nervous too like “ahh~! Crap! The principle is going to sit here” that’s when you get cramps sometimes

Chinen: I see

Okamoto: Desks too

Chinen: Okay

Okamoto: I guess people here do say that too

Chinen: We don’t, we don’t

Okamoto: I do

Chinen: You do?

Okamoto: Yeah

Chinen: I never heard you say that before

Okamoto: You know when the desks are shaking sometimes?

Chinen: Yeah

Okamoto: Like oh, the desk must be cramping right now

Chinen: Wait, people who just tuned in might think we’re stupid now, for sure

Okamoto: No at all. Have you ever said that before, Chinen?

Chinen: No

Okamoto: People generally say this at least once in their life time

Chinen: No

Okamoto: Why are you denying it so strongly? How should I react to that?

Chinen: I’m really going to be pissed soon

Okamoto: Really?

Chinen: I don’t know whether you’re lying or saying the truth. Do you actually say that?

Okamoto: Of course, my birthday IS on the April 1st

Chinen: April fool? So you’re saying bunch of lies?

Okamoto: Yeah

Chinen: So that was a lie. Yup!

Okamoto: Well, kind a like that. Please keep sending us interesting happenings, question to us and etc. That was HSL’s corner

Chinen: Please listen to a song for now. It’s HSJ

Oka-Chii: Chance to Change

CtC♪

Okamoto: It’s already time to go

Chinen: I guess Keito is a liar

Okamoto: I don’t lie

Chinen: You said “I say ‘tsukue wo tsutta’” but you don’t

Okamoto: Oh yeah

Chinen: You also say “I wasn’t listening” and stuff. I’m so confused now

Okamoto: What was it? Chinen, you’re still a middle schooler right? Well, you’ll understand once you get into high school.

Chinen: We are waiting for your mails

Okamoto: The address is…

Chinen: Please include your penname and the title of the corner when sending a letter or an email. Chance of yours being read will go up! This is it for today! This was HS7’s Chinen Yuri and

Okamoto: Okamoto Keito

Chinen: See you tomorrow

Okamoto: Bye bye

※「机をつる/tsukue wo tsuru」is commonly used in some parts of Japan. Lit. meaning “to lift up the desk”. But Keito and Chinen started talking about another word 「攣る/tsuru」'cramps' second half into the topic.

I hope this made sense, corrections are welcome =]
